Adventure Day in Neiva and the Tatacoa Desert (Neiva)

  • Early in the morning, we'll head to the airport to catch the first flight to the city of Neiva. Upon arrival in Neiva, we'll welcome you with a traditional breakfast to recharge your energy. Afterward, we'll take a guided tour of the famous Neiva Malecón (riverside boardwalk), where we'll hear fascinating stories about the myths and legends surrounding the Magdalena River and its people. Then, we'll climb up to the iconic El Mohán sculpture, from which we'll enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the mighty Magdalena River. We'll embark on a journey down the Magdalena River to the charming town of Fortalecillas. Here, we'll experience hands-on craftsmanship by learning how to make the famous bizcochos de achira — a traditional baked good made with achira starch (a native Andean root) and fresh curd cheese. A local delicacy you won't want to miss! In the afternoon, we'll take a tour through the "desert" — which is actually not a traditional desert, but a vast tropical dry forest characterized by its reddish and gray rock formations, canyons, and valleys. After the tour, we'll head to our lodging to drop off our bags and get comfortable before enjoying a magical night of stargazing. Dinner and rest

Mysteries of San Agustín

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of the SAN AGUSTÍN ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK, home to the largest concentration of pre-Columbian statues in the region. The San Agustín area, one of the most important archaeological sites in Latin America, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 and holds numerous carvings belonging to the so-called "Agustinian Culture," which began around 1500 BC and reached its peak between 200 and 800 AD. More than 500 statues are scattered throughout San Agustín; some are simple, roughly outlined anthropomorphic figures, while others — up to 7 meters tall — are finely finished and depict masks or sacred animals such as the eagle, the jaguar, or the frog. We'll have lunch in town and browse the craft shops to pick up a souvenir to take home. In the afternoon, we'll head to the Estrecho del Magdalena (Magdalena Narrows), the point where the Magdalena River — one of Colombia's most important rivers — narrows to just 3 meters wide, forming a tight channel. It's a unique natural spot that lets us appreciate the strength and symbolism of this great river. Lodging and rest.
5

Travel to Mocoa

  • After breakfast, we'll travel to Mocoa (4 hours by road), where we'll have our first encounter with the Amazon foothills, surrounded by green mountains. Lunch in the city. In the afternoon, we'll visit Suruma Park, a place to learn about Amazonian flora and fauna. Lodging and rest.

End of the World, Natural and Cultural Beauty (Mocoa)

We'll then cross the Dantayaco River and reach a natural overlook to take in the majestic waterfall, over 70 meters high, with the option to try canyoning for the more adventurous. Finally, we'll relax in crystal-clear pools before enjoying lunch in a cave with a spectacular view, before starting our descent. After the nature experience, we'll visit an Indigenous family, where the taita (Indigenous spiritual elder/healer) will perform a harmonization ritual with sahumerio (ceremonial smoke cleansing) and balancing essences to give us the best energy, an experience you can only truly feel in Putumayo. In the evening, we'll head out for a unique culinary experience with a local chef who blends native Putumayo ingredients into a three-course menu, highlighting the essence and culture of the Amazon.

Upon arrival in Sibundoy, a local guide from the Kamentsá Indigenous community will welcome us and lead this cultural immersion, where we'll explore the Indigenous cabildo (traditional community governance house) and the cultural museum to learn about the history and traditions of the Kamentsá people. We'll wrap up this cultural tour at the Intercultural Park, where we'll admire hand-carved wooden masks and discover the symbolism behind each one and what it represents for the Indigenous community. We'll enjoy a traditional regional lunch at an art gallery run by an Indigenous woman, where, besides viewing her canvas works, we can purchase local crafts. At the iconic Casona Mama Señora, we'll have a unique sensory experience designed to deepen our spiritual connection with our surroundings.
