Policies & Commitments

At RioSelva Travel we are committed to the development of responsible and sustainable tourism. Guided by the current legal regulations in Colombia, we implement programs and initiatives that mitigate the impacts of our operation, protect local communities, safeguard the biodiversity of our destinations, and ensure the safety and well-being of children and adolescents.

Sustainability Policy

We offer tourism products and services within the legal framework that governs us, promoting sustainability through measures to mitigate environmental, socio-cultural, and economic impacts. We do this through awareness programs for our clients and suppliers towards the conservation and preservation of nature, training our collaborators and informing ourselves alongside our clients and suppliers about the rights and duties to promote the conservation of flora, fauna, and cultural diversity in our destinations, and protecting our childhood through information, training, and rejection of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. We promote comprehensive itineraries with the aim of generating an equitable economic overflow at the destination, responsibly supporting the different indigenous and peasant communities that are part of our value chain.

Child Sexual Exploitation Prevention

RIOSELVA TRAVEL AGENCY is committed to the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse of minors associated with tourism; therefore, we develop the following prevention activities:

  • Visitors are informed that Art. 16 of Law 679 of August 3, 2001, for the protection of minors from sexual exploitation, is applied in our facilities.
  • Request identification documents from tourists and companions of minors: passport if foreign and citizenship card if national.
  • In the case of minors, request identity card or civil registry to verify first-degree kinship; if staying with another minor relative who is not their child, they must carry a parent authorization letter to stay.
  • Do not permit the sale of travel plans when there is suspicion of child sexual abuse, reporting cases immediately to the authorities.
  • Employees must prevent sales and avoid letting the client leave without ruling out a potential case of child sexual abuse.
  • Under no circumstances may employees or suppliers promote or offer tourist packages, sites, images, text, advertising, video, or any media displaying sexual activities with minors.
  • Constantly train and sensitize employees, suppliers, clients, guides, and external agencies.
